Drum and Bass Community Rallies Again: ‘Floodlight: DNB Aid for Jamaica’ Brings Relief Through Music

When disaster strikes, the drum and bass community has proven time and again that it shows up. Following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa on Jamaica, producer and organizer Marisa Jade, known in the scene as pyxis, has once again mobilised the global D&B family for a cause that matters.

Floodlight: DNB Aid for Jamaica drops this Friday, 5 December, 2025 exclusively on Bandcamp, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the Jamaican government to support hurricane relief efforts. The compilation features over 80 tracks from some of the biggest names in drum and bass, all contributed to help a nation rebuild.

This isn’t Marisa’s first rodeo when it comes to benefit compilations. In 2022, she organized Floodlight: DNB Aid for Pakistan following catastrophic flooding, and earlier this year, Flashlight: DNB Aid for Los Angeles raised funds for victims of the devastating LA-area fires. Each time, the response from artists and fans alike has been overwhelming, and this Jamaica relief effort is no different.

I felt so strongly that we give something back to Jamaica, our entire dnb scene owes them for that, if we can’t help them now then what else could we possibly do for them? – pyxis

A Massive Lineup for a Massive Cause

The tracklist reads like a who’s who of drum and bass royalty. London Elektricity, the Hospital Records stalwart known for his soulful liquid productions, has contributed to the cause. Legendary figures like Break and DLR, whose deep, tech-infused sound has influenced generations, and Potential Badboy, a pioneer of the jungle sound, are both on board. Ed Solo and Ink bring their signature styles, while Jam Thieves and Gigan round out a lineup that spans the full spectrum of D&B, from rolling liquid to dark, heavy neurofunk.

One of the standout contributions comes from Cecil Hotel & Forum, a supergroup collaboration of Forum which features The Clamps, Opsen, and SKS, along with Cecil Hotel (Opsen and Lionel Le Lutin). Their collective energy has produced some of the most exciting sounds in modern D&B, and their inclusion on this compilation is a major draw for fans.

Jamaica music & culture has always been a major Influence in my life & my art and I know there’s a real emergency after the devastating passage of Hurricane Melissa… so I feel it’s time for me to send some love back on the island. – Le Lutin, Cecil Hotel

Premiere: Cecil Hotel & Forum -‘Gargantu’

It’s thrillint to premiere ‘Gargantua’ by Cecil Hotel & Forum, a track that showcases exactly why this collective has become such a force in the scene. From the first bar, ‘Gargantua’ lives up to its name: massive, weighty, and utterly relentless. The production is a masterclass in tension and release, with rolling sub-bass that threatens to shake foundations and crisp, punchy drums that drive the track forward with precision.

What makes ‘Gargantua’ special is how it balances aggression with musicality. The Clamps, Opsen, SKS, and Lionel Le Lutin have crafted a tune that’s both dancefloor-ready and sonically ambitious, layering intricate sound design over a framework built for maximum impact. It’s the kind of track that demands to be played loud, and it serves as a perfect representation of the quality packed into this over 80-track compilation.

Jamaica means a lot to me as it’s the birthplace of dub which is one of the main foundations of dance/bass music, and without it I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing. – Ed Solo

Music with Purpose

Jamaica holds a special place in the hearts of drum and bass fans. The island’s musical legacy, from ska and reggae to dancehall, has deeply influenced the genre’s evolution. When Hurricane Melissa tore through the island, leaving destruction in its wake, it was clear that the D&B community would answer the call.

Marisa Jade’s tireless work in organizing these benefit compilations has become a model for how music scenes can mobilize for good. By bringing together dozens of artists, each donating their work, and channeling all proceeds directly to those who need it most, Floodlight: DNB Aid for Jamaica is more than just a compilation: t’s a statement of solidarity.

Floodlight: DNB Aid for Jamaica releases Friday, 5 December 2025, exclusively on Bandcamp. Purchasing a copy not only delivers over 80 incredible drum and bass tracks—it also directly contributes to hurricane relief efforts in Jamaica. Turn it up loud, and know that every stream, every download, and every share makes a difference.

Editor’s note: at time of press, not all tracks were available on the Bandcamp page.
