The waiting is finally over; we can reveal that the winners of our recent remix competition with Dom & Roland are Mr. Frenkie and E-Sassin while Mad Nutz and Teknik & Victim are runners-up.
“It was a tough decision choosing as I had several criteria I thought were important,” said Dom. “In order of importance I would say they were vibes / energy, mixdown and originality. I chose two winners instead of one as I couldn’t decide and they both did it for me in different ways.
“If I do this again, I think I’ll probably end up releasing an ep or two so the choice isn’t so hard. I also really liked the non-dnb ones, a special mentions gotta go out to PremEyE for his contribution, great vibes!
“I had a lot of fun listening to them all over about a two week period after they were all in and from an artist’s point of view it was fascinating seeing how other people used the samples. A big thank you to everyone who got involved.”
Mr. Frenkie and E-Sassin’s remixes will be released as a digital single on DRP and look out for our interviews with the producers soon. Unfortunately you can’t hear their remixes until they’re released but check out the runners-up remixes from Mad Nutz and Teknik & Victim below.
